Not Another Thing To-Do
You Don't Need Another Thing on Your To-Do List
If you're already overwhelmed, the last thing you probably need is someone telling you to add 5 more things to your morning routine.
Exercise.
Cold shower.
Drink green juice.
Walk.
Meditate.
And somehow do all of that before 7am.
No thanks.
When I talked to Chrissie on The Mom Boss Method podcast, we spoke about something much simpler:
How can we actually support ourselves when life is already busy?
Start small
One of the questions I love asking is:
How far up your own priority list are you?
Because so many of us are very good at looking after everyone else.
Work.
Family.
Friends.
Responsibilities.
And then somewhere at the bottom:
You.
In fact, many of the women I work with tell me that coaching is one of the first things they've ever done purely for themselves.
It can feel strange at first.
But giving yourself what you need isn't selfish.
It can actually change how you feel, think and show up everywhere else.
It doesn't have to take hours
You don't need to completely redesign your life.
Could you find 15 minutes?
Go for a walk?
Do something creative?
Sit quietly with your coffee?
Put your phone down?
Or even three minutes?
During the podcast, I suggested a three minute daily practice to settle your mind and nervous system is a great place to start.
Not because it's a magic solution.
Because it's small enough that you might actually do it.
And that's what matters.
Don't turn wellbeing into another thing to get “right”
You don't need to be perfect to look after yourself.
If you take one walk, that counts.
If you use one of my free tools from the Switch Off Series, that counts.
You're not failing because you didn't do it every day.
You're practising something new.
And perhaps that's the biggest shift:
Instead of asking:
“What else should I be doing?”
ask yourself:
“What would help me feel a little better today?”
Sometimes the smallest changes create the biggest brain space.
And you deserve some of that!
